The Felisian Chronicles - Chapter Two
When Ally awoke, her memory was fuzzy and her vision blurry. She squinted and glanced around, trying to figure out who she was and where she was. The last things that happened to her were a complete blank.
"Ow.." she winced at a sudden pain in her head and her hand slowly travelled to her forehead. There was something strange attached to her forehead and she bolted upright, needing to figure out what was happening to her. What was that on her forehead?! Something was definitely embedded into it! And.. It felt like she was sitting on something, too...
'Am I sitting on a pair of socks, or something..? Wait.. Where exactly am I..?' she thought to herself, eyes darting around the beautiful room she definitely did not recognise. The beautiful chamber had three doors, one across from her, one to her left and one to her right, as well as a curtain, also on her right, which appeared to be hiding a sliding glass door. To her left, she eyed a familiar blonde boy asleep in a chair next to her bed. 'What's going on here..?' she wondered, sliding out of the bed and standing up, walking forward to investigate the door straight ahead of her. The door opened to reveal a large ensuite bathroom and the first thing she noticed was a large, full-length mirror that made her blue eyes widden in horror. The person in the mirror was herself, but.. There appeared to be cat ears on her head.. And there was heart shaped jewel embedded onto her forehead! Also, there appeared to be two cat-tails protruding from her body...
The girl stood in silence for a moment, completely shocked by her appearance. This couldn't be real... It couldn't be..
She began backing away from her reflection, back into the room she had started in.. And let out a scream at the top of her lungs as she began to frantically touch all of the things attached to her that weren't supposed to be there.
"Y-Your Highness! What the-?!" Craig jolted from his chair, visibly startled as he eyed her in horror.
"What happened to me?!" she shrieked, continually pawing herself in confusion, tears beginning to pool in her eyes.
"My lady, calm down. Let me explain.."
The door closest to Craig slammed open and a cat-girl with wavy brown hair stomped in, her eyes narrowed angrily as her sights immediatly locked on Craig.
"Craig!?! What the hell did you do to make her scream like that?! If you touched her, I swear to the Goddess, I'll -"
"Nothing! I didn't do anything! I think she just saw her reflection. Calm down, Abby!"
The girl's anger faded to a look of concern and she whipped her head around so that she was facing Ally, who was staring at her with wide eyes.
"Y-You.. You have cat ears, too... Oh God.. I'm going crazy!"
"Relax, Your Highness. You aren't crazy. My name is Abigail Summers, but you can call me Abby. I work for you."
Tears streamed down Ally's face as she stared, completely dumbstruck, at Abby. She wasn't sure what was going on, but she really hoped this was a dream.
"It's just as I told you yesterday, Your Highness. You are the Queen of Felis." Craig said softly, hoping that her silence meant she was going to calm down, although he figured it was more likely she was just in shock.
"I'm crazy... I'm crazy! Or dreaming.." Ally muttered to herself.
Suddenly, a familiar person came through the doorway, concern apparent on her young face.
"Are you okay, Ally?"
"L-Lily-!! .... Oh God.."
As soon as Ally noticed the cat ears adorning her bestfriend's head, she stepped back again, starting to breath really heavily, her face flushing. This wasn't happening.. Not now!
'Oh God, I'm going to have a panic attack right here..'
Craig turned to her with a look of urgency coming to his face. He jutted out a hand to her and beckoned her over, "Just calm down Ally. Come here, it's going to be okay."
"I-I.. I'm having a panic attack.. I think.." She put her hand to her forehead, her knees starting to shake horribly. The room was starting to spin around her from the shock of it all.
She began to crumple and a pair of arms caught her around the waist, holding to her tightly.
"Calm down, Your Highness."
Ally turned around to discover who had caught her, her body trembling all over as she tried to steady her breathing. To her surprise, she came face to face with Deacon, who was staring at her with an unreadable look on his face.
"Just calm down. You have no reason to panic."
Ally tensed, hysterical anger starting to take hold of her in her irrationality. She twisted to get a better look at him, hot tears starting to pour from her eyes.
"No reason to panic..? No reason to panic?! I have cat ears! And a tail! And a red thing stuck into my forehead!?!"
"I can see that. Now! Shut up, you stupid woman! You are perfectly safe, all right?!"
Ally's eyes widdened and she broke free of his grasp desperatly, turning around to face him fully. Her tearful eyes narrowed ever so slightly as she delivered a hefty slap to his face with a loud clatter.
"How dare you call me stupid for being scared right now! You..You.. Jerk-off!" The anger faded quickly and she began crying even harder, while Deacon quickly averted his eyes, moving his hand to his reddening cheek and rubbing it gently.
'Your Highness..' Craig's voice in her head caused her to look up in surprise. She turned to him with tearful eyes and stared at him questioningly.
'Come with me.' he held out his hand to her again and watched as she stared at it shakily for a moment before hesitantly moving forward. 'Come now, you can trust me, I promise I won't hurt you.'
Everyone present was silent as the young Queen wobbled over and took the hand of the blonde, who promptly put an arm around her shoulders in an effort to steady her. A soft smile came to his face and he glanced from Abby, to Lily, to Deacon, saying "I'm going to take her somewhere where I can explain things better."
Deacon, Lily and Abby stared silently for a moment before Abby and Lily gave their nods of approval, while Deacon looked extremely pissed, gritting his teeth as he glared over at Craig.
"Come on, my lady."
Craig led the shaking girl out of the room and down a very grand looking staircase, into an entryway and down an angled hallway, then through a wooden door, which held their destination within it. Inside was a room with various couches and chairs, along with a bookcase and chest of drawers to one side, a painting and tapestry were sported on two of the walls.
Craig brought Ally over to a plush armchair, across from a small coffee table and comfortable looking couch, a fireplace with a burning fire was visible behind the couch. The young man took a seat on the couch across from Ally with a reassuring smile crossing his face.
'Could someone please bring tea to the first den for Her Highness and myself? Thanks in advance.' Craig's thoughts were heard in Ally's head as she began rubbing her arms, her crying was quieter now and only a few tears seemed to remain, much to Craig's relief.
"I'm sorry about Deacon's comments. He's a bit hot headed, as you can probably tell."
"Craig... What's going on? I'm so confused! I have cat ears!"
"All Felisians have cat ears."
"I'm not a Felisian. I'm a sacred breed of Felisian cat. So is Deacon."
"Either way, why are cat ears a bad thing?"
Ally was silent as she eyed him uncertainly, she wasn't really sure how to respond to that question.
"They're cute, aren't they?" Craig asked with a grin.
Ally paused, she didn't really know how to respond to that either! She whispered, "I..I didn't take a very good look..."
"Well, I think they look cute."
The brunette wasn't sure how to respond, once again. A blush crossed her face and she looked away from him without saying another word.
"Anyways, you must have a lot of questions, so fire away! I'll answer as well as I can."
"First off.. What exactly am I?" she asked, glancing back over to him with a frown on her face.
Craig didn't hesitate, he answered immediatly, "You are the Queen of the alien race known as Felisians."
"Okay.. If I am the Queen of this planet of yours, why was I raised on Earth?"
Craig's face darkened and he let out a soft sigh. He had hoped that wouldn't come up so soon..
"It's a long story, really.. Basically, there was a huge war here when you were really young and because of that, your father sent you and Lily away in order to protect you guys."
"That's right.." Ally's face paled all the more and she put a hand to her forehead, eyes wide like saucers as she murmered, "My..Earth parents.. They weren't my real parents.. Were they..?"
"No.. They weren't.."
"Why didn't I get brought back sooner, then?!"
"Well, we didn't locate you until recently and we couldn't take any chances that you were the wrong person..."
"If I'm a Felisian, why didn't I have the cat ears before? Why don't I remember any of this..?"
"I am assuming that your father placed a repression spell on you and Lily, but I was not there at the time, so I cannot really give you an answer to that.."
Ally paused, fidgetting slightly as she listened to his response. That only gave her more questions! "Is my father here?"
Craig grew silent for a moment and then shook his head sadly, "No, I am afraid he is not.."
"Nobody ever speaks about her, so I assume she must be dead... I.. Am sorry.."
'Nobody ever speaks about the former Queen..? That doesn't make any sense.. Why not..?' Ally thought to herself in her confusion.
"I don't even know, to be quite honest."
"Stop reading my thoughts!" Ally choked out with a gasp of surprise.
"Sorry.." He sweatdropped, laughing nervously. "In any case, it's lucky that we found you when we did. You see, something big and important happens to female Felisians when they turn nineteen, which you are about to. Which is why we were ordered to bring you back here as soon as we were sure that you were, in fact, the heir to the Felisian throne."
"What happens whe-... Wait.. Ordered? By whom?"
Craig hesitated and let out a sigh, "The Council of Elders ordered it.. As for the signifigance of your age, it'd probably be better to ask Abby.." a light blush crossed his face, much to Ally's further confusion. "I don't think you will want to hear that from me.."
Ally raised an eyebrow at his response, but she decided to drop the subject of her birthday, in favor of continuing to find out about this "council". "So, what exactly is this "council" that you mentioned? Who are they?"
"The Council is who have been in charge during your absense. They are a group of the oldest and wisest Felisians."
"In any case, Your Highness! Regarding your nineteenth birthday, there is one other thing that I need to tell you.."
Craig was about to say more when a knock on the door jolted him and Ally both...
