Felisian Chronicles, Chapter One
Ally sat on top of a grass covered hill, the summer sun warmly caressing her skin as she stared ahead of her at the road below, a forest visible behind it. She sighed sadly, knowing that nobody would hear her echo of sadness in this place of silitude... Although a sudden rustling noise behind her widdened her eyes and stiffened her back. Obviously she was startled, until she realised the sound was more than likely being made by her best friend. She relaxed slightly and glanced back over her shoulder, forcing a smile to her face as she called out,
Her words seemed to vanish as she stared in surprise at absolutly nothing. The gravel driveway behind her was deserted and an eerie chill rose up her spine as she glanced around the neighbourhood. Not a person was in sight.
Just as she started to turn away, another rustling noise came from the hedges lining the other side of the driveway and Ally stared intently and waited to see if it was Lily's cat coming for a visit, or perhaps a wild rabbit. What stepped forth was a small yellow cat with almost human looking blue eyes. After it revealed itself, it sat down and stared at her, seeming to smile at her in a way that made her both curious and scared at the same time. This was not a cat she had ever seen before.
Suddenly, a second cat salked out of the hedges, seeming to almost glare at the first cat with eyes that were vibrantly red in colour. They were so vibrantly red that Ally felt herself fighting off a gasp of surprise.
'That cat.. It has.. Red eyes..' she thought to herself, studying the brown and yellow cat. 'Perhaps it's sick, or something..' she realised, suddenly concerned as she held out a hand towards the two animals, clicking her tongue together in hopes of coaxing them over.
"Here kitty kitty.."
The two cats stared at her, tails swishing back and forth almost rythmically as they watched her, seeming to study her themselves.
"You can trust me, I promise I won't hurt you.." she tried to make her voice sound soothing, although she knew they couldn't understand her. She really hoped that they would trust her enough to come over so she could look at them. If something was wrong, she and Lily could probably get them to a vet.
The first cat turned to the second one and they stared at each other for a moment, as if communicating to each other without words. After a few moments, the first cat began walking towards Ally, while the second growled at its back.
"That's a good kitty!" Ally smiled gently as the animal approached and sniffed her hand. After a moment, it began meowing at her, as if approving its inspection.
The second cat meowed in response, but it didn't move an inch from its spot on the other side of the drive, watching them intently, or so it seemed.
Before Ally knew what was happening, the yellow cat nuzzled her hand and then moved on to give the back of her hand a lick with its leathery tongue... And that's when a thick cloud of smoke erupted from the ground and engulfed Ally and the yellow cat until she couldn't see a thing. Once the smoke cleared, an eighteen year old male stood in place of the cat, his lips firmly planted on Ally's hand.
Ally scarcely had time to react, because the second cat raced forward and after another poof of smoke appeared out of no where, a second eighteeen year old male appeared, this one with piercing red eyes.
"Craig! What do you think you're doing?!"
The first boy opened his blue eyes and smiled up at the dumbstruck Ally, his blonde hair glittering in the afternoon sunlight.
"At last we have found you, Your Highness." the boy, apparently named Craig, ignored his furious friend in favor of studying Ally, who stared at him in shock and disbelief.
"Craig?!" the second boy delievered a punch to the back of Craig's head, obviously furious. His red eyes were flaring with anger. "I told you not to do that!"
"What? Kiss her hand? Oww..."
"Reveal yourself, you moron!"
"A-Ally?!" A voice rang out from the distance and they all turned to find a blue haired female, prettily dressed, staring in shock and horror as she watched the three of them. It was obvious even from this distance that she was worried about her friend.
"L-Lily..?!" Ally cried out pathetically.
"It is Lily..." Craig murmered in agreement as Lily ran over to her friend's side and placed a hand on her shoulder, her brown eyes surveying the two guys nervously, before she glanced down at Ally.
"Are you all right, Ally? Who are these guys..?"
"Th-They.. They were cats.. I swear to God!"
"See what I mean, Craig?" Deacon muttered, glaring daggers at his friend, who was rubbing the back of his head.
"Oh, Deacon.." Craig shook his head and turned his attention back to Ally, placing his free hand on top of hers. "Don't be afraid, Your Highness. We won't hurt you!"
"Y-You.. You were a cat... Right..?"
"Yes, both of us are cats." he agreed.
"Do these guys have sun stroke or something..?" Lily asked them, eyeing them nervously.
"Craig!" Deacon shoved the other boy out of the way impatiently and then knelt down in front of Ally, his brown hair, tipped blonde, blowing softly in the breeze. "Forgive his idiocy, Your Majesty. Let me explain this to you, okay?"
"Your Majesty?!" Ally and Lily inquired, eyebrows raised.
"Allysa Santra, Lily Collins, you aren't of this world.. And you need to come with us now. It's time for you to return home."
The two girls stared at Deacon in surpirse. Now they were scared! Ally held an arm out in front of Lily and narrowed her eyes ever so slightly.
"If you want to do anything to either of us, do it to me. Leave Lily alone."
Deacon and Craig both stared at her in surprise, although Craig's face quickly broke into a smile.
"My Lady, we won't harm you. I promose you. You and Lily are perfectly safe."
Something about Craig's eyes softened Ally's reserves and she couldn't quite explain what it was at that point. She eyed him uncertainly, wondering who exactally he was and whether or not he could be trusted.
Ally jolted as the thought entered her head, entirely in Craig's voice, rather than her own.
"Ally, are you okay?" Lily looked to her bestfriend, a concerned look crossing her face.
'It's telepathy, Ally. Just think back to me, I'll prove it to you.'
'Wh-Who are you...?'
"S-Santra?!" she cried out in surprise.
"Ally, what's going on?!" Lily asked in alarm, both of her hands were on Ally's shoulders now as she stared at her worriedly.
"Deacon and I are your pet cats. We share your last name because of this." Craig explained seriously, although the smile still remained on his face.
"Craig, what are you doing..?" Deacon's voice rang out, his eyes angrily turning to Craig as he awaited an explanation he figured he wouldn't be getting, knowing his partner as he did.
"Your Highness, you are the heir to the Felisian throne, as well as my mistress. I belong to you."
"Y-You.. Are joking.. Right..?"
"I'm afraid not.. Will you allow me to prove it to you?" 'Please trust me, Ally..'
Ally stared at him, deep in confused thoughts by this point. Her brain was positively spinning!
"W-What are you going to do to Ally..?" Lily asked slowly, her frightened gaze focusing on Craig as she joined Deacon in waiting for his attention.
"Craig.. What the hell do you think you're doing?! This is OUR mission! Not just yours!" Deacon was furious once again as he bellowed out at Craig, who as usual, simply ignored him.
"Craig.." Ally stared at him, seeming not to hear the other two, either. She stared at the teen's eyes and couldn't help but feel she could trust him. "Go right ahead."
The blonde beamed at her and then moved so that he was in front of her again, raising his hand to her forehead. A swirling light burst forth from his fingertips and then all went horribly black.
